It’s not the Economy

I’m tired of hearing about “the Economy” like there’s some malaise in the private sector. Business is booming. It’s a seller’s market. You’ll buy what they want to sell or do without. I’m tired of hunting high and low for things I need.

I was counting the small pickups as I drove to town the other day. It accounted for a big part of the autos I saw. And they quit making them. Most of the small pickups are older and people are hanging on to them for dear life. Those Tundras are tanks now. Toyota didn’t get the message either. All the US made small trucks kept getting bigger and fancier and were made for rich kids. If you want a small economy truck, do you want 16 inch wheels, a gas guzzling engine, a five hundred dollar set of keys, and a ladder to get in it? They quit making them before people quit buying them.

There are pipe factories in my area and several distributors. You guessed it. No pipe. The government is the biggest employer in the area and everyone else is out of work. Sure the government is responsible for a lot of unemployment, but companies could make money if they made products. Wait for it.

Yes it’s time for my rant about capitalism and socialism again. They’re about as close to the same felons as communism and Nazi ism. All four are predicated on the government meddling in your affairs and taking from you to benefit less deserving people. If you’re for any one of them, you’re greedy and covetous. You’re a bad neighbor and a curse on society.
