A House Divided

Ignorant people on the Patriot Post are sure down on Peggy Noonan. She tends to get a little flowery with her prose now and again, but just because they don’t understand it is no reason to get nasty.

Stupid people shouldn’t tell other people they’re wrong. I don’t always agree with every thing she says, or with any other columnist. One thing though, she’s smarter than her critics.

For example, people who don’t believe in luck are usually lucky. No amount of making your own luck works like the real thing. The Christians were right, but if they were unlucky enough to get thrown to the lions, they lost. Everyone can’t be Sampson or Daniel. Clinton was lucky that he didn’t meet with more resistance from the Russians and the Serbs. He may have read it well, but he was still lucky. Carter and Bush were not the most competent presidents, but had the bad luck to have it happen on their watch. Clinton was lucky his pampering of Muslim terrorists in Europe didn’t cause incidents with Russians or terrorists on his.

If you’re not smart enough to criticize your enemies or to understand your friends, at least be smart enough to sit down and shut up.
