Hopey Changey Republicans

The braindead Romneyacs are in full cry now! Flip Obomney has Flip Ryan for a running mate. We’re all traitors if we don’t want eight years of being led down the socialist path. No, we’re not traitors. We never swore allegiance to your socialist crap shoot. We swore to defend the American Constitution. You learned a lot from your libtard friends. You sound just like them.

No, I don’t expect a perfect president, but he should be somewhat loyal to the Constitution instead of his own ass. By electing Romney you send the message that you will vote for whomsoever the Republican establishment chooses. Forever. Only when you quit voting for them will they quit running them. You say there’ll be a next time? Rottsa ruck. They’ve got your number now. America’s number is up.

If it’s the economy, you’re stupid. The world economy is tanking because America has lost its Constitutional government, and that was what was propping up the global markets. Our Founders pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. You haven’t given a nickel or an hour. And you have no honor.

2012 TAX DEDUCTIONS

I just received my tax return for 2012 back from the IRS. It puzzles me!!! They are questioning how many dependents I claimed. I guess it was because of my response to the question: “List all dependents?” I replied:

12 million illegal immigrants

3 million crack heads

42 million unemployed people on food stamps,

2 million people in over 243 prisons

Half of Mexico; and

535 persons in the U.S. House and Senate.

Evidently this was NOT an acceptable answer.

I KEEP ASKING MYSELF, WHO DID I MISS?

THE HORSE’S MOUTH

From The Mouth of Wisdom

A buddy quoted his mother in law as having said this…

So the Romneys are selfish for keeping a horse?
And employing a groom with a family to support.
And paying for feed that’s sold by someone with a family to support and transported in trucks by someone with a family to support and manufactured in a factory by people with families to support from stuff that’s grown by farmers with families to support.
And having a barn built by construction workers with families to support with materials trucked by drivers with families to support from factories with workers with families to support.
Sounds to me like that one horse has done more to put Americans to work than that horse’s ass in the White House.

Apocalypse Not

In 1980, economist Julian Simon made a wager in the form of a complex futures contract. He bet Paul Ehrlich (whose 1968 book “The Population Bomb” predicted “hundreds of millions of people” would starve to death in the 1970s as population growth swamped agricultural production) that by 1990 the price of any five commodities Ehrlich and his advisers picked would be lower than in 1980. Ehrlich’s group picked five metals. All were cheaper in 1990.

The bet cost Ehrlich $576.07. But that year he was awarded a $345,000 MacArthur Foundation “genius” grant and half of the $240,000 Crafoord Prize for ecological virtue. One of Ehrlich’s advisers, John Holdren, is Barack Obama’s science adviser. George Will

November’s Choices

I am a firm believer that the Constitution means what it says. The federal government can only do what the Constitution authorizes it to do. The modern-day Republican and Democratic Parties have made a shambles of that principle. Nevertheless, I understand the “anybody but Obama” urge among those who fear his excesses, as do I. Obama has killed innocents, altered laws, rejected his oath to enforce the law faithfully, and threatened to assault the liberty and property of Americans he hates and fears.

Even though Ryan is a smart and humble and likeable man who was once a disciple of Ayn Rand on economics, as am I, the Republicans want the Bush days of war and spending beyond our means and assaults on civil liberties to return. The Bush years were bad for freedom; without them, we would not have had an Obama administration.

Which do you want?

There Ought Not to Be a Law

Whenever there are problems, people turn to government. Despite the central planners’ long record of failure, few of us like to think that the government which sits atop us, taking credit for everything, could really be all that rotten.

The great 20th-century libertarian H.L. Mencken lamented, “A government at bottom is nothing more than a group of men, and as a practical matter most of them are inferior men. … Yet these nonentities, by the intellectual laziness of men in general … are generally obeyed as a matter of duty (and) assumed to have a kind of wisdom that is superior to ordinary wisdom.”

There is nothing government can do that we cannot do better as free individuals — and as groups of individuals working freely together.

Without big government, our possibilities are limitless.

New Trend: Well-Paying Professional Careers, No College Debt…

America’s next bubble, poised to burst and splatter across the country, is student loan debt – today close to $1 trillion.
Even worse, the government’s long campaign to steer so many kids into getting college credentials has resulted in massive degree inflation… to the point that such degrees have become functionally worthless. The dream of using college to sail into cushy white-collar jobs is now being exposed as a mirage.
For people in their twenties, many are finding that getting decent jobs is a matter of their families’ connections – or their parents willingness to let them continue living at home. Or both.
And the myth that people who work with their hands are losers is falling apart too. Continue reading

A Referendum on Us

The Obama campaign sees Romney’s selection of Ryan as meaning, among other things, the determination to destroy “Medicare as we know it.”

Lordy, I could almost hope so, says a Medicare recipient — the one pounding out these words. “Medicare as we know it” — strapped with unsustainable obligations to people deceived by their own government — needs to go. Obama himself calls the present program “unsustainable.”

My fellow oldsters, the money Congress promised us for health care, along with those who limp into senescence just behind us, ain’t there, and it ain’t a goin’ to be there. Not with $700 billion of Medicare money going into Obamacare and the government’s future plan to ration what we do get on the say-so of an unelected panel of experts. Tell me that’s “Medicare” as we know it! William Murchison

Bloodshed at the border: Not “Headline News”

On Aug. 12, CNN aired a “breaking” news conference to update viewers on a matter it considered of global importance: the medical condition of Jason Priestly-a washed-up, 32-year-old former TV idol who sustained moderate injuries during a Kentucky auto race over the weekend.

On Aug. 12, more than 700 mourners from across the country gathered to mark the tragic murder of Kris Eggle-a 28-year-old National Park Service ranger who was gunned down near the U.S.-Mexico border last week. Not a single national network or cable news station mentioned the memorial service or the outrageous circumstances of Eggle’s death.
