X of July

Well, it’s fourth of July. Kind of like Xmas. Nobody believes in God, it’s just shopping. We’re still ruled by a dictator, it’s just eating.

Choice

This election offers America a very clear choice! Do you want Obama to continue taking us down the road of fiscal irresponsibility and eventual collapse, or do you want us Republicans to handle that?! Bob Gorrell

ObamaCare

The Supreme Court ruled Thursday the government can tax you for a product you don’t want to buy. The idea spread. McDonald’s began charging five dollars extra if you don’t want fries with that, and unattractive hookers are cleaning up at Sunset and La Brea. Argus Hamilton

Education…. again

While it’s true that we’re in a deep hole and need to get out now, we’ll just fall back in quickly if we neglect the next generation of voters.

As we’ve said before, the presidential election is a farce. All the pundits are harping on taking the congress. But how about the school boards? The school board is like fire chief, a popularity contest. How many of you ever vetted school board candidates?

Yes, we’re still harping on EUSE and curriculum. All the things they’re teaching in grades 1-12. Forget college. No one needs it anyway. Someone was whining awhile back because doctors didn’t used to have to go to college. They do now. How’s that working out for you? Anybody in your family dead or crippled because a doctor with knowledge and equipment available that was not even dreamed of years ago made a mistake(or neglect) a horse and buggy doctor would not have made.

They say the young are our most valuable resource. If you can’t see the need to give them a proper education, I say they’re our greatest danger.

Protect your home and bank account

How about a constitutional amendment prohibiting the taxing of property? Including savings. Or taxing the sale or purchase of property? Only the appreciation above the rate of inflation could be taxed as income. This could exclude retail sales or use taxes if the income tax is abolished.

Use taxes or fees would also be limited to road taxes and the like for autos etc., not across the board property taxes. Genuine user fees. Only services or license to use government property could be suspended for non payment of taxes. No death tax, no sheriff sales.

The amendment could allow time for authorities to devise other means of revenue.

The world’s largest army

Every Fall, Wisconsin’s hunters became the eighth largest army in the world.
More men under arms than in Iran. More than France and Germany combined.

These men deployed to the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin, to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed. That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan’s 700,000 hunters, all of whom have now returned home safely.

Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. And then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states.

That’s why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought, when next we consider gun control.

Overall it’s true, so if we disregard some assumptions that hunters don’t possess the same skills as soldiers, the question would still remain…what army of 2 million would want to face 30, 40, 50 million armed citizens.

A LAWYER WITH A BRIEFCASE CAN STEAL MORE THAN A THOUSAND MEN WITH GUNS.

The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like First, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich. The Lawyers Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America .. And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers Party, grow.
Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

Just saying….

A man recently discovered that his ATM allowed him to make unlimited withdrawals. Despite having a small balance in the bank, he filled his pockets with more than $1.5 million in cash he didn’t have, and proceeded to lose it all gambling. The bank eventually discovered the problem and put a hold on the account. The man did his best to stimulate the economy with his cash infusion, but the prosecution isn’t going easy on him. For his part, he’s blaming the bank for allowing him to withdraw the money in the first place. We should stop here and clarify that the suspect is not Barack Obama. No, the man in question is likely headed to prison, while Obama is running for re-election based upon robbing the national ATM. Only in America.

Velvet Revolution

Brett Kimberlin, and his associate Brad Friedman, do not own the name “Velvet Revolution”. They do not, and cannot, claim trademark or copyright protection in the term, because in the realm of politics, where Kimberlin and Friedman seek to meddle, the term “Velvet Revolution” is more generic than “Jell-O”.

Likewise, we do not own the name “Velvet Revolution”. No one owns the term. The Czechs and Slovaks who put their lives on the line in 1989 have a pretty strong moral claim, but they’re all in MittelEuropa. The Czechs and Slovaks have bigger problems than one terrorist moonbat making a mockery of a First Amendment that they don’t have anyway.

So we’re taking the name back, for them. Velvet Revolution
