Two years after the Obama “recovery” began, 300,000 fewer people had jobs than when it started. Mr. Obama’s regulatory binge is the chief reason why this recovery is “jobless,” say business leaders, including former Obama contributors. New EPA regulations alone may destroy 1.65 million jobs.

In the first 24 months of the Reagan recovery from a more severe recession, employment increased by 7.2 million.

By manipulating statistics, Democrats and journalists put a smiley face on ugly reality. But the unemployed know how few jobs there are.

Focusing attention and attacks on people who have greater wealth-generating capacity — whether races, classes or whatever — has had counterproductive consequences, including tragedies written in the blood of millions. Whole totalitarian governments have risen to dictatorial power on the wings of envy and resentment ideologies.

Intellectuals have all too often promoted these envy and resentment ideologies. There are both psychic and material rewards for the intelligentsia in doing so, even when the supposed beneficiaries of these ideologies end up worse off. When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear.

Both politicians and intellectuals have made their choice.

According to the 18th annual Index of Economic Freedom, released Thursday by the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, Hong Kong enjoys Earth’s freest economy. It invariably has topped this list since 1995. No. 2 Singapore leads Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Chile, Mauritius, and Ireland. Agnostic on political freedom, the Index evaluates fiscal discipline, taxes, regulations, monetary policy, rule of law, corruption and other measures of economic liberty.

Hello all you brain dead wanna-be conservatives. Boy! I can’t believe the comments on the Patriot Post lately. He hit me. He hit me back. Even he hit me back first. Every liar out there says he wishes there was a better candidate running. ?HELLO-OO!? What did I tell you before? If you quit voting for them, they’ll quit running. This is what you keep voting for, so this is what’s running. The good guys have better things to do than waste their time talking to you for the umpteenth time. They quit running. You got the candidates you asked for.

Capitalism is liberty? ?HELLO-OO!? There is no difference between capitalism and communism. Both are good in themselves. It’s only when they are involved with government, (read manditory) that they are bad. Stimulus, bankruptcy laws, etc. are all bad. Handouts, spreading the wealth, etc. are all bad. Venture capitalists are not a part of capitalism either. Any more than ambulance chasers are serving the public.

I know I said I wasn’t going to say this again, but I’m going to say it. It looks like it doesn’t matter who gets elected president. He just will destroy us in a different time or manner. Unless an American Patriot messiah rides up and pulls off an Obama hat trick. If he does, just remember, the only thing stopping him from getting elected is you. He can win if you vote for him.
