The Pollina study

By Cal Thomas
Jobs created in Texas during Governor Rick Perry’s terms are receiving national attention, but Texas didn’t make Pollina’s list. Perhaps that’s because, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in Texas jobs in the private sector declined 0.6 percent while those in government increased 6.4 percent.

Just Keeping His Promises

by Eileen F. Toplansky
“We must step out of our proud-of-America-worldview and examine Obama’s actions from a different focal point. Otherwise, we rationalize his decisions as acts of inexperience and foolishness. … In essence, his hope and change are to destroy the American way of life. … [I]f the American people continue to engage in a suspension of reason, can we blame Obama for doing exactly what he promised he would do? It is we who would be ‘stupid’ if we keep rationalizing that ‘the president’s policies [are] innocent missteps of a man who is ‘in over his head.’ The president is not in over his head; he knows precisely what he is doing: rushing America down the path toward socialism.”

Endowed, not Entitled

By Peg Luksik
America was founded on the recognition that each of us has a birthright of endowed and unalienable rights. Like all birthrights, it brings the promise of opportunity and blessing, provided that we honor the responsibility of protecting and cherishing it. Our birthright cannot legitimately be taken from any of us, but each of us can choose to give it away. If enough of us make that choice, the birthright’s promise will be lost to all of us.

We call those who sacrificed everything to give us our heritage of freedom? “heroes”!

What will our children call us if we do less for them?

O’s vacation

mugwumps
Probably lost on everyone is that the genius known as Obama is well aware that his present advisors are stupid. He went to M. V. to get advice from more popular liberals who frequent the place. Or maybe he thinks it just rubs off.

NO ONE IS STOPPING WARREN BUFFET FROM PAYING MORE TAXES

Northwoods Patriots
But here’s a more creative and profitable way to “spend four billion in pretend taxes.”

Buffett and other high income earners will be able to assuage their guilt for being rich, raise up a generation of new business leaders, increase employment, curtail rising economic dependency, and even expand the tax base all without raising anybody’s taxes. So Warren, don’t dump your money down a rat hole. Do something productive and lasting with it. Invest in Americans, not in the federal government.

Libs aren’t funny, they’re a riot!

By Ann Coulter
The vast and permanent underclass created by the welfare state is a great success story for the Democratic Party, which now has a loyal constituency of deadbeats who automatically vote for the Democrats to keep their Trojan horse “benefits” flowing.

True, government employees are doing jobs we don’t want done, can never be fired, are bankrupting the country and periodically break out in mob violence.

True, also, that the children of broken families sometimes burn city blocks to the ground or kill their great-grandmothers with swords. But what a voting bloc!

Ominous Parallels

By Walter E. Williams
The 1930s depression was caused by and aggravated by acts of government, and so was the current financial mess that we’re in. Do we want to repeat history by listening to those who created the calamity? That’s like calling on an arsonist to help put out a fire.
