The “Green” war in Libya

By Diana West This week, the commander of NATO, U.S. Adm. James Stavridis, let the jihad out of the bag. He told the U.S. Senate that among the Libyan rebels — you know, our guys, the ones on whose behalf we’ve fired off about $1 billion worth of ordinance at Libya — “we have seen flickers in the intelligence of potential al-Qaida, Hezbollah.”

That means the U.S. military is fighting on behalf of the flickers that took down the World Trade Center in 2001 and the Marine Barracks in Beirut in 1983.

Does anyone care?

Get Smart

There are a lot of intelligent comments on the web lately, but the polls show that the people are as stupid as ever. Sorry I can’t quote the person who said that it’s not the president, he’s only one person, it’s all the people who voted for him that are the problem.

The only mistake Bush made was in not going earlier and with all we had on the Afghan Pakistan border. No one abhors violence more than me. But how much violence was prevented by two long wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? By waiting, he let all those crooks related to gov’t get prepared to rape the American taxpayer and consumer.

As one Irish hero? said, if it’s not socialism we might as well live under the king. There are obviously more socialists than patriots in the IRA. Now England owns half of Ireland and holds sway over the other half. The socialists are more interested in socialism in this country than the success of the American dream. The American dream, America’s reputation, the American economy, and America’s position in the world have been lost.

And the anti war crowd is all for wars in Bosnia and Libya where we are defending our enemies. It’s not about multiculturism, humanitarianism, etc. It’s about stupidity.

Just like in Libya, regime change in America won’t change things for the better unless the people get smart.

The Constitution Rocks

The Difference between democracy and socialism:
Democracy is like two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner.
In socialism, a wolf decides to have the lamb for dinner.

Obama’s ‘Empty Words’

By Terence Jeffrey
In his Monday speech explaining his unilateral decision to intervene in Libya’s civil war, President Obama said nothing about our Constitution and cited no actual or imminent threat to the United States that he was trying to repel or defend our people against. Had he not acted, Obama said, “The writ of the United Nations Security Council would have been shown to be little more than empty words, crippling that institution’s future credibility to uphold global peace and security.”

And with that, Obama reduced our Constitution to empty words.

Where have all the manners gone?

by Peg Luksik Once upon a time in America, parents disciplined their children, and society supported them in doing so. It was understood that no child was always wonderful, and that in the minutes when he wasn’t, some form of corrective action was going to be applied. It was part of the job description of “parent” to apply it.

When parents fulfilled their job description, children learned that feelings and behavior did not have to be, and often should not be, identical. There was as much emphasis on doing right as there was on refraining from doing wrong. The discipline was tailored to the individual, and could be shortened or eliminated immediately when necessary. The process took place inside the confines of the family, so a child’s process of learning to control his less-than-wonderful impulses was a private matter.

The discipline process was colored by love. Most parents love their little ones, even when a corrective action is required. So in the very act of correcting improper behavior, parents are teaching that there is a difference between sin and sinner, and that “loving someone” does not mean accepting every action that someone takes. Through parental discipline, children learned that love and approval are not synonyms, and that approval must be earned. In the process of earning it, those children developed self-control and found self-respect.

Sadly, that structure truly did exist once upon a time in America.

Today, we live in a society where many parents are afraid to discipline a child because they will be accused of abuse. They have been told that saying, “No!” is too authoritarian. Their children have been inundated with media images that portray parents as either stupid or mean or missing entirely. They have been fed a diet of “You’re wonderful” messages which contain no actual requirement to BE wonderful.

We are all living with the results. The news is full of young adults who seem incapable of living within reasonable limits of courtesy and restraint. Whether it’s the young woman in Florida who trashed a Burger King because she didn’t like the service or the food, or the incident in the subway in New York where two women physically assaulted and injured a third for no discernible reason, or the uncountable reports of road rage, or the constant reports of spectator violence at sporting events, American society is unraveling.

There are those who think that we just need more government.

They are wrong. A government can never teach its citizens how to do the right thing, and it can’t stop them from doing the wrong thing. The police are only called AFTER the crime has occurred. There is no coupling of love and correction because the government doesn’t love and can’t correct. It can only punish – officially, publicly, and rigidly.

Saying that a strong America begins with strong families is not just a truism. It is a recognition of the fact that children must be taught self-control in an atmosphere of love to become adults who can master their impulses. It takes parents to accomplish that task.

And now for the important news ….

by Argus Hamilton
Germany’s Reichstag voted Friday to end the military draft and go with an all-volunteer army for the first time in seventy-five years. It’s the wave of the future. If it works as well for them as it has for us, they’ll be invading countries again, three at a time.

Dopes

“It’s no secret how the KGB was actively involved in bankrolling and furthering the radical student and hippie movements of the 1960s in hopes that stinky, stoned hippies and violent America-hating radicals like Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and dupes in the Weathermen, Students for a Democratic Society and others would topple America or cause it great harm. Why do you think they call it dope? Just a few years after the 1960s hippies largely became extinct, a man named Ronald Reagan brought the Soviet Union to its knees, proving that communism, socialism and anti-Americans like Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn were no match for the strongest force ever developed by man: capitalism. Excellence has its rewards — never forget that. Tragically, American colleges remain infested with leftover liberals who spout socialist and communist idiocy from their insulated, ivory towers. However, the majority of Americans find liberalism to be a bankrupt, brain-dead political ideology that destroys instead of builds and creates dependence instead of independence. Real rebellion is cool so long as the rebels replace the current system with something better, such as that which the American Revolution achieved.” –columnist Ted Nugent

Uncle Sucker, world’s rent-a-cop?

By Diana West
Ain’t it ironic? Or something. It helps explain why Sunni Islam’s leading cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi —- proponent of jihad, Shariah, the caliphate, the Muslim Brotherhood, suicide-bombing all Israelis and U.S. soldiers — is supporting the rebels. According to the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report, the umbrella group for anti-Gaddafi forces prominently features Qaradawi’s endorsement on its website.

There’s more. Abu Yahya al-Libi, the al-Qaida star-honcho who escaped from American clutches in Afghanistan, posted a rah-rah video on jihadist websites urging the Libyan “rebels” to keep fighting Gaddafi, predicting dire consequences from defeat.

Just think: Those are “our” rebs, too. I can’t imagine the crew of the USS Kearsarge, now in the Mediterranean, would like that very much. Or the pilots flying F-15s over Libya, either. But what about our Congress? Flatlining. As for President Obama, if it isn’t impeachable to fight on behalf of America’s enemies, what is?

Real gun nuts and not my ox

The Oklahoma Rifle Association opposes law abiding Americans carrying guns, because those nuts scare heck out of them. Besides the Feds say the Constitution is asswipe. First, The purchase of handguns by persons under the age of 21 is in violation of existing Federal Law. Second, Allowing citizens, trained or untrained, to carry Rifles and Shotguns either in a scabbard or with a sling on city streets and into business establishments will create an atmosphere of hostility and distrust, not to mention create fear in those in our society who have an aversion to any type of firearm. Third, The apprehension, created for the Law Enforcement Officers by the open carrying of long guns could create situations resulting in unnecessary use of deadly force.

Those weiners who are clamoring for Obamacare (for you and me) are hollering just as loud to get out of it. Taking a look at all of the money we spend in Medicaid and Medicare and maybe New York City can come up with a better plan.

O’Obama and Biden, who say no war is Constitutional unless Americans have have been slaughtered on US soil (they missed the nightly news about 9 11), have jumped at the chance to attack a country that was cowering before us. The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation, I made it clear to the president that if he takes this nation to war without congressional approval, I will make it my business to impeach him. That is a fact.

The Democrats, who said “It depends on whose ox is being gored.”, meant “As long as it’s not my ox”.
